Yolanda “Yoli” Apodaca, 70, was born on February 17, 1956, in Houston, Texas, and was called to be with her Lord and Savior on September 21, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

Yoli was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose vibrant spirit, beautiful smile, and infectious laugh touched the lives of countless people. She truly loved people and loved life. Naturally social and outgoing, Yoli genuinely enjoyed meeting new people, sharing conversations, laughing, and forming friendships wherever she went. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, enjoying music, dancing, and making memories with the people she loved.

A hardworking and determined woman, Yoli spent much of her professional career in the medical industry. She possessed an incredible work ethic and, at different times throughout her life, worked two jobs to provide for herself and her family. After retiring from her career, Yoli embraced her entrepreneurial spirit and started her own margarita business, affectionately known as “Señorita Margarita.” It was a perfect reflection of who she was social, energetic, fun-loving, and always ready to bring people together. She loved serving margaritas, meeting people, and bringing laughter and a good time wherever she went.

Yoli was deeply rooted in Houston’s Magnolia and East End communities and took great pride in the neighborhood she called home. From growing up across from Mason Park to remaining connected to the community throughout her adult life, she treasured the friendships, traditions, and people who surrounded her. She enjoyed supporting her community, participating in local events, and simply spending time among the people she knew and loved. No matter where life took her, her community remained an important part of who she was.

Yoli knew how to enjoy life. She loved shopping and could always find a reason for a little retail therapy. She enjoyed trips to the casino and especially loved going on cruises, where she could travel, relax, meet new people, listen to music, dance, and have a wonderful time. Whether she was shopping, trying her luck at the casino, setting sail on another cruise, dancing to her favorite music, or simply laughing with family and friends, Yoli embraced opportunities to enjoy life and create lasting memories.

Above all, Yoli was an incredibly strong and resilient woman. Her strength was especially evident throughout her battle with cancer and the health challenges she faced. Even during difficult times, she continued to find reasons to smile, laugh, celebrate, dance, and enjoy the people around her. Her perseverance became an example for her children, teaching them one of the greatest lessons she could leave behind: to remain strong, keep moving forward, and never give up when life becomes difficult.

She was a devoted mother to her three children, and her family remained at the center of her life. Her children hope she will be remembered not only for the battles she fought, but most importantly for the beautiful life she lived the laughter, music, dancing, friendships, hard work, strength, and love she so generously shared with others.

Yoli was preceded in death by her loving parents, Fidel and Evangelina Apodaca, and her beloved grandson, Steven Gonzales.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband of 9 years, Arthur A. Rodriguez, Jr.; her son, Robert Gonzales; her daughters, Yvonne Gonzales and Priscilla Gonzales; her brothers, Gilbert Apodaca, Fidel Apodaca, Jr., and John Apodaca; her grandchildren, Steven, Yolanda, Sabrina, Michael, and Audrey; her great-grandchildren, Gavyn and Michael; as well as many other loving family members and a host of dear friends.

Yoli leaves behind a beautiful legacy of strength and resilience, along with countless memories of her radiant smile, infectious laughter, and unmistakable love of life. She will be deeply missed by all those who were blessed to know her and share wonderful memories with her. Though her presence will be greatly missed, the lessons she taught, the joy she brought to others, and the love she shared will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and loved ones forever.
