Vincent Ayala Gonzales (also known as Chief, Popo, Pops by family and friends) was born on September 6, 1938 in Houston, Texas, to Petra Ayala and Joaquin Gonzales. He passed away on March 20, 2023 at Memorial Hermann Hospital in the Medical Center Houston, Texas at the age of 84.
Those who knew him remember him for boundless energy and strong sense of duty - our family has sadly lost a great pillar, father, granddad, father-in-law, brother, uncle and dear friend. We will never forget his loving aid to others; and he gave so much and asked for nothing in return. From a young age, he was driven to achieve his goals with hard work and determination; which set a standard for all to live by
He is predeceased by his wife Pauline Garcia Gonzales, His Parents and multiple brothers an sisters
He is survived by his sons Vincent (Rachel) Gonzales; Rudy (Sandra) Gonzales; Jeff (Miriam) Herrera; Robert Herrera; Daughter Polly Ann Gonzales; grandchildren Jacinda (Steven) Lopez; Amanda (JP) Pallanez; Ashley (Danny) Gallardo; Brittany (Diego) Aguilar; Bryan Herrera; Brendan Herrera and Bianca Valadez; great- grandchildren Jayden, Jacob, Joshua, Maddie, Presley, Everly, Carley, Ryan, Noah and Camila; brother Jesse Gonzales; Sisters Hortencia, Fela, Mary, Carolina, Polly, countless nieces, nephews and many friends.
He was very proud of all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren accomplishments in their careers and in school.
He was a 28 year retired deputy for Harris County Sheriffs Department. He enjoyed his job and his countless colleagues. He will be missed by many. He served in the United States Army and was a proud Veteran.
The family acknowledges with profound appreciation all the personal kindness, prayers and other expressions of love and sympathy during this time of bereavement. May our Heavenly Father Jehovah keep each of you in His tender loving care.
