Victoria Cuevas Leal went into the loving arms of our Lord on Saturday, September 26, 2026, surrounded by her beloved husband and family at her bedside.

Victoria was born in Weslaco, Texas, and was raised in San Luis Potosí, Mexico. She later married the love of her life, Gerardo Leal, and together they made Houston, Texas, their home. Victoria was blessed to be part of a large and loving five-generation family, including numerous children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Primitivo Cuevas and Anita Martinez.

Victoria worked side by side with her husband in sales at different funeral home companies in Houston and in maintenance for major companies. Above all, she was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to caring for and loving her family.

Victoria enjoyed gardening and crocheting, but her greatest joy was her family and, most importantly, her relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. She was a faithful Christian whose life reflected her love and devotion to God.

Together, Victoria and Gerardo served the Lord as pastor and wife at Nuevo Amanecer Baptist Church of Houston. Their ministry was a meaningful part of their lives and a testament to their faith and commitment to serving others.

Victoria will be deeply missed by her family, and church family, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Her legacy of faith, love, devotion, and family will continue to live on through the generations she leaves behind.
