Ruben Guzman Mercado, 78, was born on January 25, 1942 in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico and passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29, 2020 at his residence in Houston, Texas while surrounded by his loving wife and his daughters. He was preceded in death by his father, Jose Mercado; also by his sister, Virginia Valadez.  Ruben leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his mother, Jesusa Mercado; his loving wife of 55 years of marriage, Rosa Pena Mercado; his sons, Ruben Mercado & wife Ana, Ricardo Mercado & wife Adriana, and Rolando Mercado & wife Lissette; his daughters, Raquel Martinez & husband Cesar and Ruby Lopez & husband Alberto; his brothers, Jose Mercado and Daniel Mercado; his sisters, Alma Quintanilla, Leticia Alvarado, Ana Torres, Marie Mercado, and Margarita Guevara; 18 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; he also leaves behind many other relatives and numerous friends.  Ruben will be dearly missed by all those who were touched by his beautiful soul.
