1947 ~ 2021

Richard Reyes Pallanez, Sr., 73, was born on September 19, 1947 in Ballinger, Texas and entered into eternal rest on August 31, 2021 in Austin, Texas.  Richard served honorably during the Vietnam War in the US Army and was awarded the National Defense Medal with 2 Bronze Service Stars, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal and Sharpshooter (Riffle).  He resided in Houston where he raised his family.  He then relocated to Austin where he established a successful masonry business.  Richard loved to play pool, board games, cards, dominoes, watching classic movies, fishing, and casinos; he also loved antiques and all types of music.  He was generous to anyone that visited his home, and never met a stranger.  Anyone that met him became a friend, and he became a father figure to his friend's kids.  His trips always included an ice chest full of drinks.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas & Felisita Pallanez; also by his siblings, Johnny Pallanez, Frank Pallanez, Willie Pallanez, Delia Hernandez, and Martha Marron.  Richard leaves behind to cherish and treasure his memories his loving wife of 30 years of marriage, Margaret Santos; his children, Richard Pallanez, Jr., Tricia Lynn Braham & husband Rachit, Rachel Denise Acosta & husband Florencio, Jr., Rocky Romano Pallanez, Patrick James Santos & wife Melissa, Edward Santos & wife Desiree, Thomas Anthony Santos & wife Magdalena, and Joe De Hoyos & wife Rosalinda; his grandchildren, Richard Reyes Pallanez III, Robert Anthony Pallanez, Joshua Thomas Pallanez, Rashid Salomon Braham, Jasmine Denise Acosta, Isaiah Alexander Acosta, Jeremiah Xavier Acosta, Natalia Yanira Acosta, America Ariana Acosta, Miguel Santos, Victoria Santos, Joseph De Hoyos, Angelina De Hoyos, Eric Santos, Elexis Brianna Santos, Jayden Robert Santos, Jossiah Medrano, Adrian Fonseca, and Jacob Fonseca; his great grandchildren, Isis Estrella Pallanez, Adam Rashid Braham; his brothers, Tomas Pallanez, Eddie Pallanez, Ronie Pallanez, and Larry Joe Pallanez; his sisters, Ernestina Pallanez, Amelia Lopez, Vera Pallanez, and Mary Nunez; he also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and a host of great friends.  Richard will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories with him.
