Ricardo Frank Carrizales

It is with profound sadness that the family of Ricardo “Rick” Frank Carrizales announces his passing on Monday, January 12, 2026, at the age of 63.

Rick was a proud military brat, born in Bourne, Massachusetts, before his family eventually settled in Lake Jackson, Texas. He was well known for his passion for card collecting and his lifelong devotion to the Houston Astros, along with his support of other Texas teams—with one notable exception. The New England Patriots were, and always would be, his team.

Rick will be lovingly remembered by his wife of more than 40 years, Sara Jane; his daughter, Alina, and her fiancé, Ryan; and his cherished pets and grandpets: Bea, Charlie, Buster, and Benji. He is also survived by his brother, Marc Paul Carrizales and wife Jackie; sisters Terri Hanna and husband Lyle, Gloria Mulrooney and partner Betsy Blaschke, Katrina Carrizales, Pat Roth and husband Dave, and Elisabeth “Lisa” Carrizales; In-Laws; Mary Garibay, Irene Olivarez, Robert Ojeda, Andrew Ojeda, Philip Ojeda, Jackie Gonzales, & Arlene Lamas; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great-nephews, a great-niece, and many extended family members and friends.

Rick was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Carrizales Jr.; his sister, Lynda Mac; and his parents, Carmen Martinez and Nicolas “Nick” Carrizales.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, January 23rd from 3:00-9:00pm Compean Funeral Home, 2102 Broadway St, Houston, TX 77012. Please wear your favorite sports jersey.

Memorial Donations may be made in Rick Carrizales’ name to any pet charity of your choosing.
