In Memory of Ramon Alvarez 1953-2021

Ramon was born in Yorktown, Texas on December 26, 1953 to his parents Andres Alvarez and Agapita Martinez. Ramon passed away Tuesday January 5, 2021.

Ramon is survived by his wife, Rosa E. Katz, his children Ramon Jr, Ruth, Olga, Steve, Stacy, Michael, Annaiz, Talia and Jesus who all live in Texas. He is also survived by his mother Agapita Machado and his siblings, Benito, Noe, and Eloisa, as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews and niece.

Ramon Alvarez, who passed away at the age of 67, was an extraordinary human being. He worked for more than 47 years in Safety Management and the Construction Industry. He worked for many big companies throughout his professional career including Exxon, Zachary, Amoco, CB&I, HRT, Valero, Shell, Kiewitt, to name a few. He had an exceptional work reputation in Texas, California, Louisiana, Alabama, and internationally in Colombia.

He lived his last years of his life with his wife, Rosa Katz, whom he loved with all his soul and all his being. Ramon was a person who was always willing to help everyone. He joined the Knights of Columbus association in 2014 where he was later voted in as the Grand Knight. He always helped his parish, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, alongside his wife.

Ramon leaves us with many unforgettable and beautiful memories. His departure if very painful and has left us an irreparable emptiness that will never be filled. We thank God for the time he let us spend with Ramon and we thank Him for letting us be a part of Ramon’s life. He always took care of us and protected us. This is not a goodbye but a see you soon, may he rest in eternal peace and let perpetual light shine on Ramon Alvarez. Amen.

Ramón falleció el martes 5 de enero de 2021. A Ramón le sobreviven su esposa, Rosa E. Katz, sus hijos Ramon Jr, Ruth, Olga, Steve, Stacy, Michael, Annaiz, Talia y Jesus que viven en Texas. También le sobreviven su madre Agapita Machado y sus hermanos; Benito, Noe y Eloisa, así como muchos nietos, bisnietos, sobrinos y sobrina.

Ramón Álvarez, fallecido a los 67 años, fue un ser humano extraordinario. Trabajó durante más de 47 años en Gestión de Seguridad y en la Industria de la Construcción. Trabajó para muchas grandes empresas durante su carrera, incluidas Exxon, Zachary, Amoco, CB&I, HRT, Valero, Shell, Kiewitt, por nombrar algunas. Tenía una reputación laboral excepcional en Texas, California, Louisiana e internacionalmente en Colombia.

Los últimos años de su vida los vivió junto a su esposa, Rosa Katz, a quien amó con toda el alma y con todo su ser. Ramón era una persona siempre dispuesta a ayudar a todos. Se unió a la Asociación de Caballeros de Colón en 2014, donde luego obtuvo el puesto de Gran Caballero por votación. Ayudó a su iglesia, la Iglesia Católica de la Inmaculada Concepción, junto a su esposa.

Ramon nos deja muchos recuerdos inolvidables y hermosos. Su partida es muy dolorosa y nos ha dejado un vacío irreparable que nunca se llenará. Damos gracias a Dios por el tiempo que nos permitió pasar con Ramón y le agradecemos por dejarnos ser parte de la vida de Ramón. Él siempre nos cuidó y protegió. Esto no es un adiós sino un hasta pronto, que descanse en eterna paz y la luz perpetua brille para Ramón Alvarez así sea. Amén.
