"Ralphie"

1982 - 2020

On Saturday, November 7, 2020, Ralfael “Ralphie” Danas, loving husband and father of two children, went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, at the age of 38. Ralphie was born on July 3, 1982 in Houston, TX at Jeff Davis Hospital to Rafael and Yolanda Danas. He married Roxana Elizabeth Lopez and they raised two children, Rafael Danas III and Judy Danas. Shortly after this young couple married, tragedy struck when Victor Lopez, his father-in-law died suddenly. Ralphie, undeterred by his new responsibilities, stepped up as the protector of his mother-in-law Gladys Lopez, always helping her with anything she asked. This, complete embracing of his responsibilities, would be a defining characteristic of how Ralphie led the rest of his life.

Ralphie was the consummate, hardworking family man.  He worked as a Field Service Technician for Set Point Integrated Solutions for many years. He loved spending time with his wife and kids and his beloved Yorkie “Bella.” This was a man who had a big heart to match his “giant” stature. He dedicated time with his nieces and nephews. He generously gave his time, expertise, and money to those he loved, as well, as those in need. Ralphie was an incredibly talented, self-taught wood craftsman. He often crafted special pieces for his family. If they could dream it, he could do it! However, he was best known for his Green Bean Casserole and Banana Pudding he annually brought to family Thanksgiving celebrations. He loved experimenting with new recipes, cooking, and hosting crawfish boils, and loved to barbecue almost anything! He enjoyed being at home with his family and visiting his parents. Ralphie never turned down an opportunity to help his family. He was happiest when he gave a gift that brought joy to his loved ones. He was loved by all who encountered him. The life he lived was a full and happy one, filled with what is most important; relationships filled with love. He was a loving husband, doting father, adoring uncle, proud big brother, gentle cousin, wonderful son-in-law, and dutiful son. He was led to the Lord, in accordance with Romans 10:9-10, by his father, and thus, is now in the Kingdom of our Lord Jesus as a Child of God.

Ralphie is survived by his wife Roxana of 19 years, his two children Rafael III and Judy. He is also survived by his parents Rafael and Yolanda Danas and siblings: brother Jimmy Danas (and Sandra) and their children Mariah, Jimmy Jr., and Layla Danas; his sister Destiny Zuniga (and husband Max) and their children Luke and Violet Love Zuniga, and his youngest brother Christopher Danas. His memory will also be kept alive in the hearts of his numerous cousins, many who thought of him as a brother, uncles, aunts, and numerous friends. This was a man who happily gave generously of himself, to all who loved him; and so, Ralphie leaves behind a heartfelt legacy of what it means to live and love in a “GIANT” way.

He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.

Psalm 91:1-2
