Rafael V. Reyes, age 55, was born on November 3, 1969, in Tiquicheo, Mexico and entered eternal rest on May 12, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Affectionately known as "Big Ralph," Rafael was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose greatest pride was his family. A hardworking man, he made it his life's mission to provide for and protect his loved ones.
Rafael's heart belonged to his grandchildren, whom he adored beyond measure. He was an avid fan of the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans, never missing a chance to cheer them on. A true family man, Rafael always put his loved ones first—he was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.
Strong-willed, disciplined, and generous, Rafael was a pillar of support in every aspect of life. He stood firmly by his wife’s side, especially in support of her work in the classroom. For him, failure was never an option—he led his family with unwavering determination and love.
Rafael was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Hinojosa and Josefat Valdez, and his brother, Edgar Reyes. He leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, cherished by his beloved wife of 35 years, Rosario Reyes; his son, Rafael Reyes Jr.; his daughter, Ximena Lucio, and her husband, Jesus Lucio; his brothers, Ranferi Reyes, Jay Fernandez, Ruben Reyes, and Daniel Hinojosa; his sister, Briseida Reyes; and his treasured grandchildren, Amerys Lucio and Nicolas Lucio. He also leaves behind his God children, best friends, many extended family members and a host of dear friends.
Rafael will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, generosity, and unforgettable spirit will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.

Rafael V. Reyes, de 55 años, nació el 3 de noviembre de 1969 en Tiquicheo, México, y entró en el descanso eterno el 12 de mayo de 2025 en Houston, Texas. Cariñosamente conocido como "Big Ralph", Rafael fue un esposo, padre y abuelo devoto, cuyo mayor orgullo era su familia.
