Patricia “Patsy” Flippen, 93, of Houston, Texas, was born on January 11, 1932, and was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on August 19, 2025. Patsy was a beautiful, genuine, and humble soul whose life was a true reflection of her deep faith. She loved the Lord wholeheartedly and lived each day in service to Him.
A devoted prayer warrior, Patsy carried a long list of people she faithfully prayed for every day. She read her Bible from Genesis to Revelation many times throughout her life, drawing strength and wisdom from its pages. She gave freely of herself, always willing to help anyone in need—even when she had little of her own. Patsy was charitable, compassionate, and had a special love for animals, donating generously to many rescues and charities.
Known as the source of wisdom for her family, Patsy possessed a remarkable memory and a brilliant mind. She was strong, independent, and hard-working all her life. Fierce in her convictions yet tenderhearted, she was nurturing, warm, and loved to share stories over a cup of coffee. She had a beautiful singing voice, a boisterous laugh, and a gift for making others feel welcome. Patsy never met a stranger; she was truly a social butterfly and the life of every gathering.
Her talents were many—she was an excellent cook, a captivating storyteller, and a lover of books and Texas history. She cherished her family deeply, always encouraging them to do the right thing, even when no one was watching. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Patsy was a virtuous woman of God, admired for her generosity, her humor, her big heart, and her unwavering devotion to family and faith. She will be remembered not only for her love and laughter but also for the countless lives she touched with her kindness and prayers.
Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Richard Flippen, who was called home in May 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Jeanette York and husband Emerson; her brother, Charles Jackson; her grandchildren, Winona, Perry, Patrese, and Dijeanait; her great-grandchildren, Noah, Toby, Lovey, Honor, Destiny, Alejo, Arrianna, Ysabella, Jared, Mya, Lilly, Willow, Armando, Angel, Frankie, and Krista; and her great-great-grandchildren, Alex, Hazel, Paul, Imogen, and Constance.
Her legacy of faith, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who had the honor of knowing her.
