Orlando Ruiz, de 27 años, nació en Guayama, Puerto Rico, el 5 de octubre de 1997 y fue llamado a la presencia de su Señor y Salvador el 30 de julio de 2025 en Houston, Texas.
Orlando fue una persona amable, amorosa y fuerte, que tocó muchas vidas con su calidez, sentido del humor y su generoso corazón. Luchó valientemente contra el cáncer de osteosarcoma durante más de cuatro años y nunca se rindió. Siempre tenía una sonrisa en el rostro a pesar de lo que estaba atravesando. Era trabajador, inteligente y creativo. Un buen hijo, hermano, compañero, padrastro, padre y amigo.
Era la persona a quien todos acudían por ayuda. Aunque joven, tenía una gran sabiduría sobre la vida. Amaba pasar tiempo con su familia, le encantaba cocinar, disfrutar del mar y sumergirse en lo profundo para explorarlo.
Tenía un profundo amor por la vida y por vivirla plenamente. Probó todo tipo de tratamientos —quimioterapia, radiación, ensayos clínicos— y soportó numerosas cirugías dolorosas. Vivió cada día con valentía y coraje, luchando hasta el final.
Orlando deja atrás a su madre, Marilyn Arroyo Galarza, su padre, Orlando Ruiz Candelario, su prometida, Mariana Pasillas, su hermana, Karimar Ruiz, su hijastra, Arianna Hernández, y su perrita, Hazel. También le sobreviven muchos otros familiares y una gran cantidad de buenos amigos.

Orlando Ruiz, 27, was born in Guayama, Puerto Rico on October 5, 1997 and was called to be with his Lord and Savior on July 30, 2025 in Houston, Texas.
Orlando was a kind, loving, and strong person who touched so many lives with his warmth, sense of humor, and generous heart. He bravely battled osteosarcoma cancer for over four years and never gave up. He always had a smile on his face despite what he was going through. He was hard working, smart, creative. Good son, brother, partner, stepdad father and friend.
He was the person everyone called for helped. He was so young but so wise about life. He loved spending time with family, loved cooking, loved the ocean and taking deep dives to explore the ocean.
He had a love for life and loved to live. He tried everything from chemotherapy, radiation, clinical trial and endured many painful surgeries. He lived everyday with courage and bravery and fought till the very end.
Orlando is survived by his mother, Marilyn Arroyo Galarza, his father, Orlando Ruiz Candelario, his fiance, Mariana Pasillas, his sister, Karimar Ruiz, his step-daughter, Arianna Hernandez, and his dog, Hazel. Orlando is also survived by man other family members and a host of good friends.
