Ofilia Coleman Chapa, 88, was born on April 19, 1938, in Corpus Christi, Texas, and entered eternal rest on May 28, 2026, in Houston, Texas.

Ofilia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who was cherished by all who knew her. A woman of deep faith, she was devoted to her Lord and Savior and dedicated to her family throughout her life.

She found great joy in cooking for her loved ones and never turned down a sweet treat, especially pan dulce and donuts. Ofilia had a warm and loving spirit that drew people to her. One of her favorite traditions was spending every New Year's Day with family at her niece Terry's home, creating treasured memories year after year.

She enjoyed listening to music, especially Selena, dancing, and tuning in to Radio Hallelujah. Ofilia also loved visiting her hometown of Corpus Christi, affectionately known to her as "Corpitos," a place that always held a special place in her heart.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tomas Chapa, Jr., and her son, Victor Chapa.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Asenette Chapa Olazaba, Yolanda Chapa, and Olivia Uribe; her sister, Aurora Estrella; her grandchildren, Jessica, Robert, Esperanza, Gilbert, Angel, Daniel, Yolanda, Lizeth, and Victoria; her 11 great-grandchildren; her one great-great-grandchild; as well as numerous other relatives and dear friends.

Ofilia's love, faith, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who were blessed to share in her life and create lasting memories with her.
