Nicolasa B. Mireles

1940 ~ 2020

Our Mom Nicolasa B. Mireles went to sleep in the Lord’s arms on October 3, 2020, to be awakened on the day of Jesus Christ. Born in Houston, Texas September 10, 1940, she is preceded in sleep in Christ by her loving husband of over 40 years Ernest Mireles.

Nicolasa, or “Nicky” as she was known by many, is a fun-loving spirit whose devotion to family was only outmatched by her devotion to being God’s beloved in Jesus Christ. Although she endured a more-than-challenging life, she achieved her high school diploma and went on to business school keeping a perfect 4.0 GPA throughout her entire academic career. Mom was a classically trained pianist and tremendously gifted in every aspect of arts and crafts as well as a phenomenal cook and honorary pastry chef. Her devotion to her husband was unconditional and unmatched. Her devotion to children had been recognized by the State of Texas through the Parents & Teachers Association (PTA), plus we as her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren testify to her unconditional love and devotion to all of us. She was a tender, loving wife, mother, sister, cousin, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, and dear friend to many.

Nicolasa is survived by her sisters Anastacia Salinas and Victoria Rivera and brothers Guillermo Becerra, wife Miroslava, and Francisco Becerra. She is survived by her children, Gilbert Uribe, and wife Sylvia, Eliseo Uribe, CharLee Ann Christianson, Jose S. E. Mireles, and wife Rhonda, and Luis Mireles and wife Yadira. She is survived by her grandchildren, Gilbert Anthony Uribe, Pete G. I. Uribe, Bobby Joe Lour and wife Cherish, Brandy Barnet, Zachary Job Mireles, Ian Jacob Mireles, Rebecca Paige Babb, Jessica Renee Mireles, and Benjamin Skye Mireles. She is survived by her great-grandchildren Natalie Hope Lour.
