Obituary

Mary Ann Caballero, 79, was born on November 18, 1946, in Houston, Texas, and entered eternal rest on March 9, 2026, in Sugar Land, Texas.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and dear friend whose kindness and warmth touched the lives of everyone who knew her. She was the heart of her family and took great pride in the love she shared with her children and grandchildren. Mary also had a special place in her heart for her beloved cats, who brought her comfort and companionship throughout the years. A proud Houstonian, she enjoyed cheering on her favorite hometown teams, the Houston Astros and the Houston Texans.

Mary was a natural caretaker who found joy in caring for others. She loved cooking and bringing family together over a good meal, always making sure those around her felt welcomed and cared for. She had a gift for storytelling and loved sharing memories and laughter with those she loved. She never missed an opportunity for some good chisme, and her conversations were always filled with humor, warmth, and a little bit of mischief.

She shared a special bond with her husband and loved dancing with him whenever she had the chance. Mary also enjoyed trying her luck at gambling, something she fondly referred to as “Cha Ching,” which always brought a smile to her face. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed relaxing with her favorite shows, including the Cooking Channel, classic westerns, and HGTV. She also took great joy in keeping up with whatever her grandchildren were watching, always wanting to stay connected to their world.

Her faith was an important part of her life, and she loved attending church and spending time in prayer and reflection. Mary lived a life centered around family, love, and simple joys, leaving behind countless memories that will forever be treasured by those who knew her.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother, Ruth Castillo; her husband, Frank Caballero; her daughter, Mary Ruth Schnur; and her grandson, Frank Caballero.

She leaves behind to cherish her loving memory her sons, Frank A. Caballero and wife Michelle, Henry J. Caballero and wife Alicia, and Bobby Caballero and wife Patricia; her daughters, Hope Elena Martinez and husband Rudy, and Julie G. Caballero Hermosa and husband Pedro; her siblings, Arturo, Janie, and Mary Helen; her grandchildren, Jacob, Jonathan, Michael, Mark, Erin, Kevin, Madison, Danielle, Noah, Jude, Lila, Drew, Ariel, Alyssa, and Lauren; and her great-grandchildren, Lucas, Bella, Emily, Daisy, Lily, and Kai. She also leaves behind many other cherished family members and a host of dear friends.

Mary Ann Caballero will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love, laughter, and the many beautiful memories she created with those around her will live on in the hearts of her family and friends forever.
