Maria Elena Elizondo, born May 14, 1943, was the sixth of eight children born to Juan Garza and Isaura Lara.
Maria Elena attended Instituto Tamaulipas, where she specialized in commerce. She later worked at Bancomer Bank, where she met the love of her life, Hector Guadalupe Elizondo. The couple began their life together in Estación Manuel, Tamaulipas, Mexico. Their sons Hector and Carlos, and their daughter Gabriela, were born in Tampico, Tamaulipas.
Following the devastation of Hurricane Inez in 1966, which severely impacted the tomato agriculture in the region, the family relocated to Houston, Texas. There, they welcomed two more sons, Edgar and Marcos.
Maria Elena was blessed with a large and loving family, including 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Known for her strong work ethic and caring nature, she worked primarily as a caretaker well into her 80s, dedicating her life to helping others.
Outside of work, Maria Elena enjoyed visiting casinos and spending time with her family in Mexico, whom she loved dearly. She will be remembered most for her playful, mischievous spirit and her lighthearted personality that brought joy and laughter to those around her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Bernardo; her son; Hector Hugo Elizondo, her; sisters Elda Bernardita, Olga America, and Elsa Margarita.
Maria Elena is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Hector Guadalupe Elizondo; her children Hector Elizondo, Carlos Enrique Elizondo and Dinorah, Gabriela Elizondo Gonzales and husband Cary, Edgar Eduardo Elizondo and Farrah, and Marcos Alberto Elizondo; as well as her 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, extended family, and many friends whose lives she touched.
Family, friends, and all whose lives Maria Elena Elizondo touched are invited to attend her services to celebrate her life and memory.

María Elena Elizondo, nacida el 14 de mayo de 1943, fue la sexta de ocho hijos nacidos de Juan Garza e Isaura Lara.
María Elena asistió al Instituto Tamaulipas, donde se especializó en comercio. Más tarde trabajó en el Banco Bancomer, donde conoció al amor de su vida, Héctor Guadalupe Elizondo. La pareja comenzó su vida juntos en Estación Manuel, Tamaulipas, México. Sus hijos Héctor y Carlos, y su hija Gabriela, nacieron en Tampico, Tamaulipas.

María Elena deja para honrar su memoria a su amado esposo de 60 años, Héctor Guadalupe Elizondo; a sus hijos Héctor Elizondo, Carlos Enrique Elizondo y Dinorah, Gabriela Elizondo Gonzales y su esposo Cary, Edgar Eduardo Elizondo y Farrah, y Marcos Alberto Elizondo; así como a sus 14 nietos, 6 bisnietos, familiares extendidos y muchos amigos cuyas vidas tocó.
