Maria Angelina Galvan Scherer, age 83, was born on February 10, 1942, in Asherton, Texas, and entered eternal rest on April 28, 2025, in Houston, Texas.

Maria Angelina was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother who was deeply loved by all who knew her. She had a joyful spirit and loved dancing and spending time with family and friends. She was also very active in her church community, always participating in events and supporting those around her. A hardworking and resilient woman, Maria Angelina raised her six children on her own, instilling in them the values of love, strength, and perseverance. Her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love touched the lives of many.

She was preceded in death by her beloved daughters, Sylvia Gomez and Dora Rodriguez, and her cherished grandson, Samuel Rubalcaba.

Maria Angelina leaves behind a legacy of love in the hearts of her family: her sons, Ricardo Gomez and his wife Rose, and Rudy Gomez; her daughters, Maria Elena Rubalcaba and Noel Michelle Scherer; her brothers, Jose Galvan, Hector Galvan, Abelardo Galvan, and Rudolfo Galvan; and her sister, Alma Galvan. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing her and sharing in her life.
