The road gained a guardian of its own on October 24, 2025, as Margarito Saucedo, Jr., age 52, took his final journey. Born to Hortencia Saucedo and Margarito Saucedo, he lived in Houston, Texas and passed in Brownsville, Texas — fittingly, along the path that brought him peace.
Margarito was a man of the open road — a truck driver whose soul found freedom in the hum of the engine and the horizon stretching ahead. The highway wasn’t just his work; it was where his spirit breathed. He didn’t just drive — he lived out there. He shared that world with his children, passing down not only knowledge of the industry, but the joy, resilience, and glow that came from doing what you love.
He believed in dreams with a fighter’s heart. No obstacle, a no never stopped him. He taught his children to push forward, to create the life they imagined, to stay strong, and to never lose heart. “Échale ganas! Si puedes!” — this was his compass, and now, his legacy.
Margarito filled the world with laughter, warmth, and unfiltered authenticity. He had the rare gift of making others feel seen and safe. He joked through pain, found joy in struggle, and gave what he had — his time, his labor, his heart — without hesitation. He was proof that wealth isn’t measured in money, but in love shared, hands extended, and lives touched.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Hortencia Saucedo. His story continues through his father, Margarito Saucedo Sr; his siblings, Graciela Saucedo Torres, Maria Enedelia Saucedo, Armando Saucedo, Edmundo Saucedo and Leonardo Saucedo; his children, Margarito Saucedo III, Marissa Saucedo, Julio Rene Saucedo, Ángela Yasmin Saucedo, and Isaias Saucedo; his grandchildren, Alysabeth Dominguez, Johnathan Dominguez, and Joseph Victor Calderon; and his loyal little buddy, Chico.
He was loved by his nieces and nephews and all who knew him — and the echoes of his laughter will travel with us like a song on an open highway.
