Obituary

Luz Elena Tovar De Leon, 22, was born on April 27, 2003 in McAllen, Texas and entered eternal rest on January 10, 2026 in Houston, Texas.

Luz was an incredible person who always thought of others before herself. She truly lived up to her name, because she was genuinely a light in the lives of everyone who knew her. She had a special way of making people feel good and of brightening any place she went.

She loved working with children and was an excellent daycare teacher. She enjoyed caring for them, teaching them, and watching them grow each day. She was also studying to become a teacher in the future, something that excited her greatly and reflected her big heart.

Luz took on the role of an older sister to many. She was always willing to help, listen, and offer advice to anyone who needed it. She celebrated the achievements of others as if they were her own and was always there to support people in both good times and difficult moments. She was someone we could all trust and rely on for anything.

In addition, Luz deeply loved dogs. She was the kind of person who would take in homeless puppies to give them love and a safe place. She dreamed of one day having a large sanctuary where she could help many more animals and have the space needed to care for them as they deserved.

Her smile lit up every room, and her contagious laughter always brought smiles to others. Luz was a humble, simple, and very warm person. Her love and her memory will live forever in our hearts.

Luz will be dearly missed by all those who were able to share wonderful memories with her.
