A longtime resident of Pasadena, Texas, José was a man of quiet strength who believed in the power of respect, the value of hard work, and the importance of family.

For many years, José was a committed employee at Shell Lubricants in Pasadena. While his long hours often kept him busy, his work was always a labor of love for his family. He was incredibly adamant about the education of his four children, two daughters and two sons. He constantly pushed them to excel in school and to pursue careers that would provide them with stable, happy lives. To José, a good education and a strong job weren’t just goals; they were the keys to the future he wanted for his children.

He lived by a simple but firm code: respect everyone, judge no one, and never be lazy. He expected that same grit from his children, always encouraging them to keep moving forward.

When the workday was over, José found joy in the simple things. He loved football, fishing, and heading out for a good meal, especially a steak at Texas Roadhouse. Some of the family’s most cherished memories happened at the dinner table. Whether the whole family was gathered or just a few were present. Even when he wasn’t physically there due to his long shifts, his influence and support were always felt by his wife and kids.

In his later years, José’s greatest delight was his grandchildren. He was kept laughing and running by his four year old grandson and his one year old granddaughter. Though he did not get the chance to meet his newest newborn grandson, his legacy of strength and his dreams for their future will be passed down to all of them.

José fought his battle with cancer with the same toughness he applied to everything in life. His final wish for his family was a reflection of that spirit: he asked them not to let his absence break them, but to remain strong and keep standing tall. He is survived by his devoted wife, his four children, and his three grandchildren. He will be deeply missed, but his lessons on hard work and the importance of a good life will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

En sus últimos años, la mayor alegría de José fueron sus nietos. Se mantenía riendo y activo gracias a su nieto de cuatro años y su nieta de un año. Aunque no tuvo la oportunidad de conocer a su nieto recién nacido, su legado de fortaleza y sus sueños para el futuro de ellos vivirán en cada uno.

José enfrentó su batalla contra el cáncer con la misma fortaleza que aplicó a todo en la vida.
