Obituary

Jose Guadalupe Garza, Sr., 83, was born on October 13, 1942, in San Benito, Texas, and was called to be with his Lord and Savior on July 21, 2026, in South Houston, Texas.

Jose was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and faithful friend whose life was rooted in his love for God and his family. A Christian and God-fearing man, he lived by his faith each day, finding strength and purpose in prayer, worship, and serving those around him. He loved attending church and faithfully prayed not only for his family but for everyone whose lives he touched.

For 65 years, Jose dedicated himself to his career as a truck driver, earning the respect of those around him through his remarkable work ethic, dependability, and commitment to providing for his family. Beyond his work, he found great joy in spending time with his loved ones. He was an avid baseball fan and especially treasured watching his children and grandchildren play sports, proudly cheering them on from the sidelines. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by his family, sharing laughter, encouragement, and the love that defined his life.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Gloria and Antonia; and his brothers, Patricio, Blas, and Ricardo.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife of 64 years, Maria Aurora Garza; his sons, Jose Guadalupe Garza, Jr., Daniel Garza and wife Celia, and David Garza and wife Sonya; his daughters, Norma Garza and Nora Cortez and husband Michael; his brothers, Eugenio, Larry, Raymundo, Reynaldo, Gilberto, and Raul Garza; his grandchildren, Kimberly, Nikki, Michaela, Michael II, Rene, Alyssa, Daniel, Mia, Lauren, and Sophia; his great-grandchildren, Arian, Alex, and Tristian; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

Jose's legacy of faith, love, hard work, and unwavering devotion to his family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone who was blessed to share in his life.
