In Loving Memory of Jose Manuel Anaya Herrera “Melo"
Jose Manuel Anaya Herrera, 78, was born on February 27, 1947, in Paras, Nuevo León, Mexico, and entered eternal rest on February 24, 2026, in Houston, Texas.
Jose Manuel was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend whose kindness, warmth, and laughter touched everyone who knew him. He shared a beautiful and enduring love with his wife, Romelia — a partnership rooted in devotion, respect, and family. Together they built a life centered on faith, hard work, and unconditional love, creating a strong foundation that continues through their children and grandchildren.
A man of few words, Jose spoke most powerfully through his actions — through his steady support, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. He lived a life rooted in humility and family, and he will be remembered for the guidance and loyalty he gave so freely. One of the many things that made him so special was his contagious laughter — a laughter that could fill a room, lift spirits, and bring smiles even on the hardest days. It reflected his joyful heart and the warmth he shared with everyone around him.
His wisdom, humor, warm smile, and steady presence will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Santiago Anaya Ruiz and Aurora Herrera Garza; his brother, Hector Anaya Herrera; and his loving wife, Romelia Anaya Chapa.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jose Manuel Anaya, Jr. and his wife Perla; Fabian Anaya and his wife Cynthia; and Monica Anaya Nero and her husband Richard. He also leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Ximena Ayari Anaya, Aaron Manuel Anaya, Isabel Marie Nero, Juliana Rose Nero, Mia Grace Nero, Jax Alejandro Anaya, and Alessandra Lucia Anaya.
Jose Manuel is also survived by his siblings, Santiago Anaya Herrera, Derly Anaya Herrera, Aurora Garcia Anaya, and Hilda Chapa Anaya, as well as many extended family members and a host of dear friends.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to share in his life and love. Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in the beautiful memories he gave us and in the legacy of love, strength, laughter, and devotion that will live on through his family.
