Joel B. Rivera, 82, was born October 25, 1939 in Coahuila, Mexico and entered eternal rest on January 14, 2022 in Houston, Texas. Joel was a loving father and grandfather, that was very much a man of his word, respectful, gracious, and hard working, that left a big impact on all his grandchildren. He was very slow to anger and easy to forgive. He is preceded in death by his father, Federico Rivera; his mother, Apolonia Briones; and his loving wife, Guadalupe Alvarado Rivera. Joel leaves behind to cherish his memories his sons, Joel Rivera & wife Marilyn, Juan David Rivera & wife Stephanie; his daughters, Araceli Mayorga, Martha Martinez & husband Andre, Rebecca Day & husband Aaron; his brother, Salomon Rivera, David Rivera, Jose Rivera; his sisters, Carmen, Esther, Maria, Rosa, Petra, & Rebecca; his grandchildren, Briana, Victoria, Carlos, Marcos, Natalia, Emily, Hannah, Faustino, Daniel, Daniela, Joaquin, Aaron Jr., Anayah, Alyana, John David, and Mildred; he is also survived by many other relatives and a host of good friends. Joel will be dearly missed by all.

Time: 3:00pm - 6:00pm

Celebration of Life: 5:00pm

Location: Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel

Cremation will take place on a later day.
