Joe H. Carrasco, 91, was born on February 22, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas, and entered eternal rest on April 1, 2026, in Pasadena, Texas.
Joe was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend who was cherished by all who knew him. He enjoyed dancing, swimming, and spending time with family and friends, especially hosting gatherings at his home. His bar room was a special place where he created many lasting memories with loved ones.
Joe was a devoted fan of the Houston Astros, Rockets, and Texans. He had a wonderful sense of humor, was always in good spirits, and carried a happy-go-lucky personality that brought joy to those around him. A true people person, Joe was known for his generosity and willingness to help others—he would give his last penny to someone in need. He was affectionately known as “Grandpa” by the neighborhood children, a testament to his warm and caring nature.
Joe also took great pride in his Lone Star and Camel tattoos, often showing them off with a smile.
He was preceded by his beloved parents, Joe Andrew and Elena Carrasco.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 75 years, Mary G. Carrasco; his sons, Joe Carrasco and wife Elsa, Earnest Carrasco and wife Pamela, and Martin Carrasco; his daughters, Sylvia C. de Hoyos and husband Anthony, Mary Helen C. Plata and husband Hector, and Sandra C. Guerra. He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other family members and a host of dear friends.
Joe will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him and sharing in his life.
