Geneva Mireles Melchor

Geneva Mireles Melchor, 79, was born on October 8, 1943 in Houston, Texas and was called up to be with her Lord and Savior on August 28, 2023 in Houston, Texas. Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  When she wasn’t working at The Houston Chronicle, where she dedicated 35 years, she loved to spend time with her family and all her grandkids. Geneva like traveling to the casinos and enjoyed her time at the slot machines with a cold miller lite in her hand, while waiting on that jackpot. She loved to make herself up, always her hair, makeup and nails done, so she'll be ready to go when asked. Geneva is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Connie Mireles; her sisters, Janie Hernandez and Rosie Perales; and her brother-in-law, Ralph Perales. Geneva leaves behind to cherish her memories, her sons, Richard Melchor, Jr. and Mark Jason Melchor & wife Gloria; her daughter, Connie Burford & husband Barry; her brothers, Joseph Mireles, Phillip Mireles, Robert Mireles, Frank Mireles, Tony Mireles, and Arthur Mireles; her sister, Josephine Rodriguez; her grandchildren, Adrienne, DeAnna, Marissa, Gerald, Briana, and Jared; her great grandchildren, Paris, Destiny, Bella Rose, Chloe, Kingston, Mariah, Marabellah, Marlanah, Brody, Honey, Josiah, Jeremiah, and Noah; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.  Geneva will be greatly missed by all who shared wonderful memories with her.
