Obituary

With deep sorrow, but also with gratitude for the life he shared with us, we announce the passing of Francisco Javier Castro López, who, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, departed this world on March 21, 2026, at the age of 75.

Francisco was born in 1950 in the small agricultural ranch of Camucuato, Michoacán, Mexico, the son of Luisa López Mozqueda and Gregorio Castro García. From a young age he was known for his hardworking, humble, and respectful character. Before getting married, he worked on a hacienda, where he began developing his knowledge of mechanics, which would later become his trade and livelihood.

In his beloved hometown, he married Yolanda G. Castro, and together they built a family founded on love, hard work, and respect. After the birth of their first daughter, the family decided to emigrate to Houston, Texas, in search of better opportunities, as many families have done with hope and courage.

In the United States, he worked in various jobs until establishing himself as a mechanic, a trade in which he stood out for his skill and dedication. Through the fruits of his hard work, he was able to purchase his first dump truck, and over time he went on to own two 18-wheel trucks, which he used to support and provide for his family for many years. During this time, he also became a citizen of the United States of America, a milestone that reflected his perseverance and commitment to his family's future.

Francisco was a man deeply devoted to his wife, children, and family. One of his greatest joys was returning to his beloved farm town Camucuato, where he enjoyed working his land and reconnecting with his roots and community.

He is survived by his beloved wife Yolanda G. Castro; his children Verónica López, Hugo Castro, Yolanda Tijerina, Mónica Belcher, and Joel Castro; his daughters-in-law Patricia and Jazmín; and his sons-in-law Alberto, Isaac, and Nicholas. He also leaves behind eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of pride and joy in his life.

He is also survived by his siblings Florencio Castro, Salvador Castro, and Juanita Castro.

Francisco will be remembered as a hardworking and humble man, devoted to his family and proud of his roots. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled in his children, the love he planted within his family, and the respect he earned from all who knew him.

Although his passing leaves a great void in our hearts, we find comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering and that his memory will live on in our lives. His life was an example of effort, sacrifice, and love for family.

Rest in peace, Francisco Javier Castro López. Your memory will live on forever in our hearts.
