"Bobby"

Federico Vasquez Montoya

1948 ~ 2020

Lovingly known as Bobby, he was called to be with the Lord on October 3, 2020. Bobby was a Vietnam Veteran of the US Army, and served in the Military as an SP5 Sargent. He served in the Vietnam War from 1969-1971 until honorably discharged in 1975 from the reserves. He traveled to several places including Japan, Guam, Hawaii, Wake Island, and the Philippines.

As a young adult he enjoyed playing his saxophone for church; he loved his saxophone! As the years passed, Bobby continued to work for the Lord in whichever church God placed him in. He was a Sunday school superintendent, a church secretary, treasurer, men’s leader and more. Bobby loved working for the Lord in any and all capacities. He was faithful to God, his family and his church; a dedicated man to the kingdom of God and the body of Christ.

At Iglesia Casa de Dios, he served as secretary & he loved his work & did it with a passion.  He was a very detailed man & nothing was more important to him than his weekly reports, certificates and keeping attendance every Sunday.

Bobby was so proud of his family: his wife, his daughters, sons in law & grandchildren.  He always loved showing off pictures of them & talked about their accomplishments with so much “dad pride”. He was thankful to God for the family he was given.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Micaela Peavler, Susie Escobedo, George Montoya; and his brothers in law, Hiram Piñon & Aaron Leal.  Bobby leaves behind to cherish his memories, his beloved wife, Narci Montoya, of 51 years. Two daughters, Monica Gauna & Melissa Rios. Sons-in-law, Pastor Obed Gauna & David Rios.  Beautiful grandchildren, Grace, Caleb & Zoe Gauna; Mya Dominguez; Melody & Jacob Rios. Siblings, Santos Piñon, Martin & Blanche Lucio, Rosalinda Montoya, Dan & Priscilla Miller, Gerard Vega, James Peavler & numerous nieces & nephews. In-laws: Lictor & Lupe Arredondo, Santos & Connie Perez, Johnny Perez & Eva Loredo, Rosalinda Leal Armando Perez, Robert & Janie Perez, Alfred & Margaret Perez, & numerous nieces & nephews.
