With heavy hearts and deep love, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, who entered eternal rest on March 25, 2026.

Evangelina Vitales was born on August 28, 1960, in Río Bravo, Tamaulipas, Mexico, and came to the United States in 1976 in search of a better life and brighter future. In 1977, she was baptized in Jesus’ name by Pastor Hernan Silguero, a moment that reflected her enduring faith and devotion.

She was a dedicated and hardworking woman who spent over 25 years working at Kroger, where she built lasting friendships and touched many lives. Above all, she was a loving and resilient single mother who devoted her life to raising her three daughters—Maria Isabel Vitales, Abigail Vitales, and Sara Muñoz—with strength, compassion, and unwavering love. Her sacrifices and guidance shaped the women they are today.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Porfirio Cerda Limón and Narcisa Martínez, as well as her dear sister, Alma Delia Hernandez. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her siblings Abelardo Cerda, Omar Cerda, Griselda Perez, and Adriana Cerda; her cherished grandchildren Rigoberto Issaiah, Joshua, Isaac, and Cecilia; and her precious first great-grandchild, Issaiah.

She will be remembered for her kind heart, her strength, her faith, and the laughter she brought into every room. One of the many ways she showed her love was through her cooking—her tamales were a favorite among family and friends and will forever be a comforting reminder of her care and generosity. Though she is no longer with us, her love, her lessons, and her spirit will live on in all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
