Cleto A. Hernandez, 83, was born June 4, 1939 in Waelder, Texas and was called up to be with his Lord & Savior on September 24, 2022 in Kingwood, Texas. Cleto was a Marine Veteran and draftsman of structural steel design but more importantly, a devoted family man who loved spending time with his family.  He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to discuss politics and religion, loved traveling the world, and was an excellent dancer that taught at Fred Astaire dance studio. He also appreciated fine art and jazz music. 

Cleto is preceded in death by his parents, Ponciano and Maria Hernandez, his brother Joe “Joey” Hernandez, and sisters, Adelaide “Lala” Moreno and Margaret Silva. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife of 26 years, Carmen Hernandez; his sons, Anthony Hernandez and wife Rita, Ricky Hernandez and wife Catherine, Tony Hernandez, and Jose Salgado and wife Janine; his daughter, Alejandra Saucedo; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; his beloved Schnauzer, Pepper, and many loving cousins, nieces and nephews.

Cleto will be dearly missed by all those who shared wonderful memories with him and for the father-figure he was to many.

Visitation: Sunday, October 2, 2022 from 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm for immediate family, 4:00 - 8:00 pm family and friends with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 pm at Compean Funeral Home Chapel

Funeral Service: Monday, October 3, 2022 at 10:30 am at Compean Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Randy Faram and Luis Gramaldo officiating

Interment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery
