Cary Dawn Garcia

Cary Dawn Garcia, age 65, of Austin, Texas, passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Galveston, Texas, Cary grew up in Houston before eventually settling in Austin, where she married, raised her family, and built a life grounded in faith, love, and laughter.

Cary was a woman of energy and warmth — always smiling, always reaching out to others, and never meeting a stranger. She loved sports, playing softball, tennis, and volleyball with enthusiasm and joy. Beyond her athleticism, Cary’s heart was devoted to her faith. She was an active church member who found great peace in reading her Bible, walking along Town Lake, and sharing God’s word with others. Her compassion and courage took her around the world as she traveled overseas on missionary trips, spreading kindness and hope wherever she went.

Cary was a loving mother, a devoted grandmother, a caring sister, and a cherished friend. Her faith in Christ guided her every step and continues to shine through those she touched.

She is survived by her daughters, Heather Lewis, Tina Palomino, and Ashley Reneau; her grandchildren, Riley and Benjamin Peña, and Kinsley, Kalle, and Karli Reneau; and her great-grandson, Carter Peña. She is also survived by her brothers, Dion and wife Angelica Garcia, and Troy Garcia, and her beloved nieces and nephews, Amber Hurtado, Lauren Garcia, Cord Garcia, and Chloe Garcia. Cary is preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Eva Garcia, whom she now joins in eternal rest.

Cary’s life was a testament to her unwavering faith, her boundless love for others, and her joyful spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
