Obituary

Carlos Alfredo Portales, 36, lovingly known as “Pumba,” was born on June 4, 1990, in Houston, Texas, and entered eternal rest on August 21, 2026, in Kingwood, Texas. Carlos was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend who was deeply loved by many.

Carlos enjoyed the simple moments in life, especially grilling with his best friend and brother, Bulky, and spending time fishing. He was an amazing uncle who loved his niece and nephew dearly and was always there for them whenever he could be. He shared a special bond with his sister, Angela, and although he loved picking on her and playfully fighting with her, it was always his way of showing his love and brotherly affection. Carlos also had a passion for football and enjoyed sharing his love for the game with those around him.

Pumba was genuinely one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. He was kindhearted, protective, funny, and always a joy to be around. He had a natural way of making people laugh and could brighten even the hardest of days with his happy spirit and unforgettable personality. Carlos made those around him feel loved, safe, and cared for, and he never hesitated to be there for the people who meant the most to him. His laughter, kindness, and the love he shared so freely will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved him.

He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his mother, Alicia Wyche and her husband, Leslie; his sister, Angela Del Valle and her husband, Alex Garcia; his maternal grandparents, Arnoldo and Margarita Lopez; his niece, Alyson Avila; his nephew, Jayden Avila; as well as many other family members and a host of dear friends.

Carlos “Pumba” Portales will be deeply missed, but the love, laughter, and wonderful memories he shared with those around him will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.
