Antonio "Tony" Esparza

01/17/1929 - 01/21/2013     Antonio (Tony/Popo) Esparza AKA: “Tony the Tiger, 84 was born in Houston, Texas, January 17, 1929 & went home to be with his "Lord & Savior" on January 21, 2013 while surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his Wife, Amelia "Emily" Garcia Esparza, the love of his life; Son, Marco Antonio Esparza; Grandson, Mark Anthony Padilla; Parents, Tereso Esparza & Refugio Vinegra Esparza; Sisters, Guadalupe Muñoz & Carmen Fernandez; Brothers, Cruz & Jesse Esparza. Survivors that will cherish his memory are Daughters, Consuelo Esparza Ramirez & her husband Gustavo, Carmen Esparza Feierabend & her husband Jerry, Vivian Esparza Montemayor & her husband Sergio, Mary Louise Esparza Cano & her husband Ramiro & Sylvia Esparza van Rooy & her husband Willem; 12 Grandchildren; 26 Great-Grandchildren & 1 Great-Great-Granddaughter. Tony, as everyone knew him, was a kind, loving and giving person. Always ready to offer a helping hand; you called & he was there regardless of time or day, never turning anyone down. The word "NO" was not in his vocabulary. He will be greatly missed by all his loved ones & friends, for he was a caregiver to many. Visitation will begin Friday, January 25, 2013 from 3-10pm @ Compean Funeral Home Main Chapel with a Rosary being recited @ 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 26, 2013 @ 10:00am @ Holy Name Catholic Church with Rev. Anderson Luis Souza presiding. Interment will follow in Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery.
