Abel Salazar, Sr.

Abel Salazar, Sr., age 66, was born on February 19, 1959, in Houston, Texas, and was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on July 3, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Surrounded by his loving family, Abel passed peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and cherished memories.

Abel is preceded in death by his parents, Dario Salazar, Sr. and Magdalena Salazar, as well as his brothers Juan Salazar, Sr., Albert Salazar, Sr., and Manuel Salazar, Sr.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years, Sydney Morris Salazar; his children: Abel Salazar, Jr. and wife Maribel, Billy Salazar and wife Brandy, Michelle Salazar and husband Marlo, and Jeremy Salazar. He was a proud grandfather to fourteen grandchildren: Jamie Laredo, Abel Salazar III, Ariana Salazar, Billy Salazar Jr., Melanie Contreras, Ashlyn Salazar, Alekzander Salazar, Eric Contreras Jr., Katelyn Contreras, Julie Contreras, Mai Allen, Jacob Contreras, Antonio Salazar, and Bailey Salazar. Abel was also blessed with four great-grandchildren: Elena Salazar, Soraya Salazar, Adrian Salazar, and Kataleya Samuel.

In addition to his immediate family, Abel leaves behind many other dear relatives and a host of devoted friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

Abel’s warmth, strength, and generosity touched the lives of all who knew him. He will be deeply missed, and the beautiful memories shared with him will be cherished always.
